SUSTAINABILITY & ETHICAL PRACTICE
At Victoria Bliss, we are committed to creating garments that honour the women who wear them, the hands that craft them, and the world that holds us. Sustainability is not an aesthetic for us, it is a consideration at every stage of design and development. It is embedded in our core values.
CONSIDERED DESIGN & MATERIAL SELECTION
We prioritise natural, renewable fibres chosen for their longevity, wearability and reduced environmental impact. Our collections are crafted predominantly from linen, cotton, silk, wool and leather, selected for their ability to breathe, drape beautifully, and age with grace.
Every component, from thread and linings to buttons and trims, is thoughtfully sourced and rigorously tested to ensure quality and longevity. We favour biodegradable materials and continue to research and trial innovative, regenerative materials.
Victoria Bliss maintains a strict feather-free policy, now and forever - taking a firm stance against utilising animal feathers in any capacity.
LIMITED RUNS
At Victoria Bliss, we value our garments, our makers, our environment and our planet. Therefore, we produce exclusive, limited units of each style.
ETHICAL MANUFACTURING PARTNERSHIPS
We work with manufacturing partners in Australia, China and India who share our values of craftsmanship and responsibility. Each operate under a formal ethical production contract drafted specifically for our brand, outlining:
- Compliance with all local labour, wage, safety and workplace laws
- A commitment to fair wages, reasonable working hours, and safe working environments
- A prohibition on forced, involuntary, or child labour
- Recognition of freedom of association and worker representation
- Annual review and progress tracking toward achieving living wage benchmarks
- Transparency requirements including anonymous worker feedback and audit access
Our purchasing practices are structured to support fair wages, never forcing cost reductions at the expense of worker wellbeing.
BESPOKE, IN-HOUSE CRAFTSMANSHIP
Alongside our ready-to-wear range, we offer bespoke wedding and event pieces, designed and made in-house. This allows us to produce on-demand, reduce overproduction, and create garments with emotional longevity, heirlooms to cherish for generations to come.
PACKAGING & CIRCULAR RESPONSIBILITY
Our packaging is intentionally minimal and designed for reuse or return to nature.
We use:
- Compostable mailers (home-compost certified)
- Biodegradable tissue and recyclable (or reusable) cardboard
- Cotton care labels and recyclable swing tags
CONTINUOUS PROGRESS
Sustainability is an evolving practice, and we review our processes regularly. We share updates through our product pages, and social channels to maintain transparency and empower informed choice.
As we navigate this journey, we welcome feedback or ideas - we would love to hear from you at hello@victoria-bliss.com so that we can evolve together.
